Staying true to the saying "Little drops make an ocean", though there were quite a few complex automations that saved a lot of efforts, there were many simple automations that collectively amounted to great number of efforts that were saved.
Processes as simple as monitoring E-Mails, Ticketing Tools such as ServiceNow and BMC Remedy were among such use cases. There were many use cases where the automation had to execute scripts in windows and Linux systems at regular time intervals. Most of the use cases involved taking screen shots, creating a report in the form of Word or Excel file and informing the respective stakeholders. There were also quite a few simple SAP use cases which were focussed primarily on administrative tasks. These tasks included unlocking locked users, resetting their passwords, managing user roles and accesses among many other simple cases.
The concept of reusability is truly a blessing in the field of Automation. Micro bots were developed and maintained in order to perform repetitive tasks such as logging into an application, performing predefined set of actions, logging out of applications, generating reports with predefined templates etc. These micro bots were then used wherever needed by just making the required changes in the configuration file and hence making the automation compatible with newer environment. Over the course of time, this process proved to be highly beneficial and saved a lot of development time thereby increasing the Return on Investment rather slowly but steadily and exponentially.
